R2 Certification

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

As a business working towards environmental sustainability, we take pride in our official R2 Certification. The purpose of this certification is to guarantee quality, transparency, and environmental as well as social responsibility. In taking a comprehensively sustainable approach to our business practices we view our R2 Certification as an important indicator of our quality control. R2 Certification was developed by a consensus of multiple stakeholders through a transparent process consistent with ANSI essential requirements. As part of the certification we undergo regular audits to ensure that standard upkeep of the guidelines is met.

What is SERI?

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

SERI (Sustainable Electronics Recycling International) is a non-profit group dedicated to responsible electronic product reuse, repair, and recycling. The foundation was originally developed in order to promote understanding and awareness of unethical electronics repair and recycling business practices being conducted around the globe. As is stands today, R2 is the gold standard that defines the requirements necessary for a business involved in electronics recycling and repair. The system itself provides invaluable resources such as a common set of processes, safety procedures, and documentation requirements for businesses involved in the industry.

The foundation of SERI was sparked by the growing awareness of the challenges surrounding electronics recycling. Its ultimate mission is to create a world climate in which electronics recycling is conducted in such a way that promotes preservation of important and sometimes scarce natural resources in addition to raising consciousness of the well-being of the natural environment. To this day, the three tenants of SERI are quality, safety, and transparency. During its early formation the United States Environmental Protection Agency assembled a number of important stakeholders in order to create a voluntary and market-based mechanism for ensuring best practices within the industry. Through this collaborative partnership between public, private, and nonprofit sectors, the group began to take shape after 3 years of development. The transparent process was conducted by the U.S. EPA, regulators from other various state agencies, major electronics recyclers, refurbishers, and their respective trade associations, OEMs, customers of said electronics recycling services, and non-governmental organizations. Another primary aspect of the consensus-based standards are the health and safety of industry workers and their surrounding communities.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The ISO 14001 is a practical set of criteria used to help companies manage environmental impact and manage their environmental responsibilities. We’re proud to adhere to this framework which helps us in quantifying and measuring the total impact and overall improvement we make in our daily operations. The standard was devised by ISO technical committees in collaboration with a number of other sub-committees in order to ensure comprehensive data coverage. Other standards within the ISO family approach other metrics such as labelling, audits, communications, life cycle tracking and quantification, in addition to larger scale environmental considerations such as climate change.

What is ISO?

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

ISO is a fully independent non-government international organization centralized in Geneva, Switzerland. The foundation is a collaborative effort between major national bodies from 164 countries that operate in tandem to develop voluntary and consensus-based market standards while still providing room for innovation and progressing solutions to global challenges. ISO’s goal is to be leader in worldwide standards through committee decision making and consumer outreach.

OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

As part of our operations standards we adhere to all OHSAS 18001 standards as it’s the international precedent for occupational health and safety. We fully utilize OHSAS policies, procedures, and controls in the daily processes of our business in order to create the best possible working conditions. At KT Corp we take social responsibility just as importantly as environmental responsibility. We actively engage our teams to achieve the safest conditions in order to identify potential hazards and eliminate the potential for workplace accidents.

Our Partnerships

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

As part of our maximum value recovery process we partner with external recycling organizations and companies that come with the added benefit of a higher level of specialization. In addition to the standards we hold highly we’re incredibly selective when it comes to choosing our ever-expanding network. By widening our available resources we’re able to bring you the most value when reclaiming, repairing, and re-manufacturing mobile or IT equipment.
